Last Day of School and 6th Grade Graduation!

June 6- We have always had year-round school, and we have always been in school during the month of June.  Until this year!  We finally got A track for the first time ever, and it was so nice to get out of school so early (it felt early for us but was actually a week later than the traditional school schedule).  Here are some pics of the day.

It was very sunny in front of the school!

Bethany had her 6th-grade Graduation that morning, so we were there to see her.

She won the DARE Essay contest, and here she is getting that award from Officer Behm.

She played in the orchestra.  Their instruments were horribly out of tune, but they didn't have a teacher anymore.  I should have offered to tune their instruments for them...

She also won the Peacebuilder Award.

Violet was restless as usual.

Here Mrs. Baird read "What I want to be doing in 20 years" that Bethany wrote.

BFFs Taylor, Taylor, and Bethany!  They've been friends since preschool!

Grandma Baker came to watch.

Besides the DARE award and Peacebuilder, Bethany also won a couple of reading awards and the Presidential Scholar award.  I am one proud mom!

Bethany and her friend Atlantis from our ward.
Sorry there was so much about Bethany!  The boys also had their last day of school too!
Jorgen and his amazing teacher Mrs. McFarland.  I really loved her!  She was just what Jorgen needed this year.

Jorgen and his best buddy Brock.

Andrew and Mrs. Malan.  She is amazing too!

Andrew had perfect attendance for the year and won an i-pod shuffle!  He was so excited!

Field Day

June 5 - I had my mom come watch the younger kids so I could go and help with Field Day for the big kids.  I was on the kick ball station.  I learned that elementary kids are pretty darn competitive, with the exception of 1st graders and 6th graders.  Funny.  The 1st graders were just sweet, and the 6th graders just seemed intent on being bored with such childish games.  Whatever!  I got pictures of Andrew and Bethany at my station, and at the end with the fire truck soaking them.

This same day happened to be our 16th wedding anniversary!  So later that evening we had Bethany babysit and we went out to dinner and did a little shopping.  It's hard to believe it has been 16 years already!

4th Grade Rendezvous

June 4 - Andrew had his 4th grade Rendezvous on the last Wednesday of school.  He sold candy and otter pops.

School Pool Party

June 2 - we had a Pool Party put on by the PTA on the last week of school.  It was a lot of fun, but I only got these 2 pictures.  And for some reason Dan's head became a glowing orb, ha!

Kindergarten Field Day

May 30 - I went to help out with Kindergarten Field Day for Jorgen's class.  It was fun to see him interacting with his classmates.  They had a lively bunch of boys in his class, and very competitive too!
