Easter Photos

Here are a few photos from our Easter celebration this year. I tried to get some nice photos, but the kids were just being silly. I can't seem to find any way to rotate the pictures on the posting options, so you'll have to turn your head, sorry! I'll figure this out later.

I have a feeling this blog will be a lot like my journal. I always have great ideas for entries/posts, but then I get busy and forget to do it. Or, I will think I have a few minutes, and then the baby wakes up, or someone is hungry, or whatever. This week has been hard because Jorgen has decided to stop sleeping through the night. He used to sleep from 11:00 - 5:00, which isn't great but at least I got a little bit of sleep. But the last few nights he has been waking up several times over night to eat. Last night he wouldn't go back to sleep after I fed him. Dan took over at 3:00 am and I'm not sure when he finally went to sleep. All I know is he woke up again at 6:30 and I was totally out of it. I guess he is having a growth spurt or something. It's hard to function on only 3-4 hours of sleep per night. I'm sure all of you other mothers can relate.

Speaking of hungry kids, Andrew is whining that he is hungry again. I guess I'd better get him a snack.

Andrew's Birthday

We celebrated Andrew's 4th birthday on Saturday. We invited his cousins over for an Easter Egg Hunt. They had a lot of fun!

Abby was content to sit on the grass and count her 4 eggs over and over.

John was smart and found the eggs on the deck, while the bigger kids were running around the yard.

Then we went inside and had birthday cake - a "Cars" Ice Cream Cake from Baskin Robbins. The boys all loved the cake. (Girls, too!)

Happy Birthday Andrew! We are so glad you are a part of our family!

My life

So I turned 30 this year and have been thinking about what my life has been like over the years. Here are some things I thought of.

12 years ago:
I was a Senior in High School, preparing to take AP tests and excited for graduation and college.

10 years ago:
I was engaged to Dan, and going to school, and practicing 4 hours a day, and preparing for piano juries, and teaching over 30 students, and running the USU Youth Conservatory. Yikes!

9 years ago:
We signed for the loan to buy our house here in Syracuse. Has it really been that long?

7 years ago:
My Grandpa Tolman died, then 7 weeks later Grandma Tolman died. They were the only grandparents I knew. I discovered I was pregnant for the first time - Bethany was on her way!

4 years ago: I was 9 months pregnant and anticipating the birth of our 2nd child. Happy 4th birthday, Andrew! (on Saturday) Also, I had given up on potty training Bethany for the time being.

1 year ago: I got a new calling as 2nd counselor in the RS Presidency (I was just released 2 weeks ago). I discovered we were expecting our 3rd baby about the same time.

4 1/2 months ago: Jorgen was born and I was officially exhausted! Thanksgiving and Christmas were a blur this year.

Now it is spring (yay!) and I am looking forward to what the future holds for me and my family.

I was going to add some pictures to this post, but my computer is having a hard time downloading them. Sorry, I'll try again when I don't have a baby in my lap.

Dan's Theater

Here are a few photos of our home theater downstairs. Dan has put a lot of time and money down here (I call it the money pit). It has turned out really nice, and it is a lot of fun to watch a movie. The latest addition will be a new Blu-Ray player. I should have Dan do a post about it, but for now this will suffice.

Well, I decided to jump on the bandwagon and start our own family blog. I'm not sure how often I will update it, but I'll give it a try anyway. Today Bethany is going on her very first field trip, to Discovery Gateway. She was so excited! She gets to ride a school bus and take a sack lunch, all for the first time. She even took her little digital camera that Sam gave her for Christmas. I hope she doesn't lose it.

Yesterday Jorgen got his 4-month shots. He only cried a little bit. Much better than his 2-month check up, where he cried for half an hour. He is getting chubby and is a very happy, smily kid.

Andrew is super excited for his birthday in 10 days. We're going to have an Easter egg hunt and invite the cousins that live close. His birthday won't always be on Easter weekend, so we have to take advantage of it this year.
