I Gotta Have My Pops

I was making dinner and it was about 10 minutes away from being done. Jorgen couldn't wait and got a box of Corn Pops out so I sat him in his chair and pored a few on his plate. I know better, but I left the box within his reach. So I turned my back and next thing I know he had grabbed the box and pored himself some more. The entire box. On his plate. And the floor.

This is an older picture, but I thought it was cute that he was cutting his spaghetti. He did a pretty good job.

Good thing he is so stinkin' cute!

What's Going On

I haven't posted for awhile, so here is a quick update. Andrew started soccer for the first time. He has liked it so far, except for walking back to the car after the game is over (he's too tired, wah!)

It looks like they need to work on some rules, like no hands!

This is a warning to parents - don't buy the "Lick to Reveal Your Fortune" Fruit Roll-ups. This is the result:

Dan went on a bike ride out to Antelope Island, early one morning. It was the day of the Balloon and Kite Festival. It was too windy for the balloons and not windy enough for the kites. Who thought that one up? I'm glad I stayed in bed that morning.

Andrew had silly socks day at school. I dug out a pair of striped toe socks I had back in college. Classy, don't you think?

A Funny Conversation

I have to preface this post by revealing that I don't always listen to Classical music (I know, GASP!) Listening to Classical music makes me too analytical sometimes - I revert to college mode and critical listening kicks in. Sometimes I just need to turn off my brain, so in the car I often have the radio on FM100 or KSL. The kids have a few favorite pop songs (Andrew loves Taylor Swift and makes us listen to the WHOLE song if it comes on, even if we are sitting in the garage). I also don't always like Classical 89s selections, sometimes they play weird stuff. I should load some of my own CDs in the CD player, but I always forget until we are already driving somewhere.

So today I was sick of the pop stuff and turned it to Classical 89 when we went to pick up Bethany. While we were waiting for her, Andrew was listening and this is the conversation we had.

Andrew: "I don't like this song. What is it called?"
Mom: "It's Beethoven." (It was one of his piano concertos)
Andrew: "Well I don't like it. It sounds like a GIRLS song."
Mom: "Oh really? Well I like it, so we are listening to it."
Andrew: "I think Beethoven would like something else better."
Mom: "Like what?"
Andrew: "The Itsy Bisty Spider?"
Mom: "Really"
Andrew: "Yeah, that's more of a boys song."
(a few minutes passed.)
Andrew: "Mom, I said I don't like this song! Can you change it to a song I like?"
Mom: "I'm driving. When you can drive, you can pick the song, Okay?"
