Black Island Farms - Again

We went to Black Island Farms again, this time with the whole family. Bethany's friend Nicole was in town for the weekend, so we invited her along too. I am feeling lazy, so I'm not going to do any captions - you can just enjoy the pictures!

Tis the Season!

I was going through my Christmas music, to see what I had and what I needed to get more of. And I decided I didn't need to buy ANY new music - cause I have a ton! Each of those piles is at least 5 or 6 books high, some more like 10. These are the student-level books. I have a similarly sized stack of music at my level, that I like to just play all season long. Yes, I know it's not even Halloween yet. But for a piano teacher, the Christmas music comes out long before Halloween :)

Ear Piercing

Here's the before picture:

Didn't get a during picture - I was taking a video! And I haven't figured out how to get a video on here without Dan helping me...

She was a trooper and didn't cry. But afterwards, at home, she said "that HURTS!"

Bethany's Birthday

Is it really possible that my little girl is 10 years old? I can hardly believe it! Bethany turned 10 on October 18th. We didn't have a friend party this year, but we celebrated as a family. Bethany requested a strawberry cake with chocolate frosting. I found a recipe online, and she did most of the work herself. It ended up being a really yummy cake with a fresh strawberry flavor - it was scrumptious! And Bethany did a great job making it. It's kind of funny, because I remember making my own birthday cake every year since I was able to cook. I guess she is just carrying on the tradition. Fine with me - I didn't have to make a fancy cake!

The little brothers were not allowed to help, but they watched (and licked various spoons and bowls.)

She patiently waited for Dad to get home from work before opening her presents.

The number one thing Bethany wanted this year was to get her ears pierced - so she got tons of earrings this year. (Ear piercing post to come!)

We let Bethany choose either her favorite meal at home or her favorite restaurant. She chose to go to Wingers. She loves the wings with no sauce :)

After dinner - cake time!

Jorgen was being grumpy again.

Happy Birthday Bethany!
