Swimming Lessons

My pictures are out of order. This was at the end.

Andrew is always cold. He was shivering pretty bad.

They both passed their levels! Way to go guys!

County Fair Pictures

She didn't want to milk the goat, so she just petted it instead.

Jorgen loved the pigs!

I think you're too big for the stroller, Andrew!

I'm a week late getting these pictures on here, but here you go. We went to the County Fair last weekend and had a good time.

Catching Up

Jorgen at 9 months old

It's been a while since I posted, so I'll catch up on everything we've been doing. This past weekend we went to the Nay Family Reunion at Pine Valley, down in Southern Utah. We left Friday after Bethany got out of school, then made the long drive. It took us 1 1/2 hours to get to Thanksgiving Point, because of two spots of bad traffic. But, then Jorgen and Andrew slept from there all the way to Beaver, where we stopped for dinner. We arrived at the campsite around 9:00 pm, but couldn't find our group, so we were driving around all of the campgrounds in the dark for an hour! After finally asking a camp host, we found everyone, and Dan set up the tents in the dark. Jorgen actually slept pretty well, because I had him with me, but Andrew tossed and turned all night, and I didn't sleep much either.

On Saturday, some people went on hikes, we had a treasure hunt and crafts for the kids, and a pinata. Saturday night was a celebration for Great-Grandma Nay's 80th birthday, complete with cake and a campfire. Saturday night we packed up and went to Dan's sister's house in LaVerkin to spend the night there and go to church with them Sunday. Jorgen did NOT sleep very well that night. He kept everyone awake until well past 1:00 am. Sorry, it's actually kind of normal for him. He doesn't sleep well away from home, which is why we haven't done a lot of travelling this year.

We went to church Sunday morning with Steph's family, then left for home. On the way home, we stopped at my brother's house in Riverton for dinner, where we called my sister and wished Serena (her daughter) a happy 3rd birthday. We got home late Sunday and all three kids were asleep until the car turned off, then Jorgen woke up.

It was a fun weekend, but I am still recovering from the lack of sleep.

Bethany is off track now, so I have her and Andrew in swimming lessons. This is Andrew's first time. Clearfield's lessons were all full, so we are trying Surf N Swim this time. I'll have some pictures soon.

Jorgen is finally staring to crawl and finally has one tooth starting to come in. I'm trying to get a video of him crawling, but he just wants to grab the camera from me.

Best Family Reunion spots

For all 5 or 6 of you who read my blog and live nearby, I was wondering where your favorite places to have Family Reunions are? Northern Utah or Southern Idaho areas. My family is in charge of next year's reunion and we are trying to find a nice place. It needs to have group camping but still be fairly close to motels for the older folks who don't want to camp. Any suggestions would be great - Thanks!

Ogden River Trail

Before we went to the Dinosaur Park (see next post) we went up early so Dan could take the kids on a ride in the bike trailer. We went on the Ogden River Trail that runs right behind the Dinosaur Park. I walked waaaaay behind with Jorgen in the stroller. In fact, he got fussy and wanted out, so we stopped and sat on a bench and watched the river for awhile. It's a really nice trail with lots of trees.

Dan has really been putting on the miles on his trike. He's also lost 25 lbs since starting. And he seems to actually enjoy it, so he just might stick with it. He comes home from work sweaty but happy. When he drives, he's usually grumpy from the horrible commute. So, I think he's found a good way to get in a work out and avoid the nasty traffic.

Dinosaur Park

On Saturday we went with Dan's family to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden. I've never been there before. It was really nice. It's up near the mouth of Ogden Canyon, so there are a lot of trees and the mountains are right there in the background.

The first animals we saw were bunnies (go figure). Maybe to calm the frightened children? A couple of the younger cousins were a little scared of the recorded dinosaur roars, but they were okay after awhile.

It was a fun day and we'll have to do it again someday when it isn't so hot!

My favorite picture is the "World Most Dangerous Creature" with Uncle Sam and Bethany. Click on it to enlarge and you can see. Pretty scary!

Air Force Museum

On July 24th we decided to go to the Hill Air Force Base Museum. It was pretty cool, but also pretty hot.

We happened to arrive right as they started some paper rocket launching. Bethany especially thought it was a blast. She launched her rocket at least 5 or 6 times. Andrew didn't want to launch his at first, but we talked him into it.

Bethany asked if girls can be pilots. Now she wants to be a pilot when she grows up. Add that to her ever-growing list of future occupations (which includes, among other things, dentist, ballerina, teacher, etc.)

We took a short break to rest our legs.

Afterward, we went to Farr's in Ogden for some icecream. I even let Jorgen have a little (shhh). Yeah, I know, not until he's one, but I've bent a lot of rules with the third kid and he seems okay.

Good to the last drop!

Okay, my captions and pictures all lined up nicely while editing, but then when I publish it, they are all changed. Anyone know why it does this? Is there anyway to drag pictures around, and move text?
