Black Friday Adventure

Instead of going shopping on Black Friday, we decided to do something fun instead. Bethany was invited to spend the night at Grandma Nay's after Thanksgiving, with the other girl cousins. The boys were feeling left out, so we thought we could take them on the FrontRunner train to see a movie. Here we are waiting at the Clearfield Station for the train. Dan rides these trains twice a day, every work day. But it was a first time for me and the boys. Jorgen was beyond excited!

Here comes the train!

Riding the train:

We rode to the Farmington Station. There is a huge pedestrian bridge that goes over the tracks. Andrew and I counted 99 stairs total!

We went to the new Cinemark theaters in Farmington and saw "The Muppets." It was pretty funny! Andrew was laughing through pretty much the whole thing. Jorgen, on the other hand, wanted to ride the train again and barely sat through the movie. After the movie, we rode the train back to Clearfield, then drove to Cafe Zupas for lunch. It was a fun day, and much better than shopping!

Thanksgiving 2011

This year we had Thanksgiving with the Nays. We are getting too big to fit in Grandma & Grandpa's house, so we met at the church. The meal was delicious of course. I didn't get any pictures until after we had eaten and we were doing some games. Dan decided to ride his bike all the way from Syracuse to Brigham City to earn his dinner. Only took him 2 hours.

2nd Grade Thanksgiving Feast

Andrew's class joined another class and had a Thanksgiving Feast this morning. They dressed up as Pilgrims and Native Americans, and feasted on muffins, fruit, juice, and milk. It was pretty cute. Andrew makes a pretty handsome pilgrim:

Jorgen was tagging along and joined the feast.

Later tonight, Bethany found her Pilgrim and Native American costumes that she made two years ago, and the kids had fun dressing up. I didn't even know she still had them. Don't tell Jorgen he's an Indian princess!

They were all having fun until Jorgen got grumpy and ripped one of Bethany's costumes. He got sent to bed early for that one.

Girl Scout Overnighter

Bethany had a little overnight camp at Trefoil Ranch this past weekend. It was a mother-daughter camp. I forgot to get my camera out of the car until the campfire. It was so cold! And it started snowing just as the campfire started. So they kept it short, which was nice, but we were still all cold.

At the campfire:

Doing skits - notice the snow!

Bedtime! They crammed as many mattresses inside the ranch-house as they could fit. They was literally no room to walk without stepping on someone's bed. Girls on one end, moms on the other. It was kind of hard to sleep, so we were all tired the next day.

The next morning we went to pack our stuff up before breakfast, but my van was covered with snow, and the sliding doors would not open - they were frozen shut! The nice lady that I carpooled with cleaned off my car for me, while I was helping Bethany change her shoes to boots without stepping in snow. I think we had about 6 inches of snow. Apparently I was the only one with a snow scraper in my vehicle, because everyone borrowed it. I did get it back.

Waiting for breakfast - french toast sticks. The food was okay, not great but not awful either. Just okay.

After breakfast they had activities.
