School Projects

Here are a few of the latest projects from the kids at school.  Jorgen painted this huge picture, but he couldn't decide which way he liked it better - vertical or horizontal.  So there is a picture of both ways.

Andrew made this geographical map of Utah using salt dough:

Bethany had to draw a movie poster as part of her book report:

Girl Scout Bridging

Last May Bethany had her "unofficial" bridging ceremony with just her troop.  Mostly so her troop leader Amy, who moved to Spain, could be there.  This fall, the service unit had the "official" bridging ceremony.  There were not very many girls who came, but that's okay because it was done in less than 30 minutes.  Last year it was over 2 hours long!  Way too long.  Jorgen had to go to a birthday party, so he missed it, but he didn't mind.  He gets bored at these things.  Dan got some better pictures on his phone, so I'll add those later.  I spent most of the time chasing Violet up and down the concrete stairs of the amphitheater.

Is now a Cadette!

Fall Soccer

Here is a sampling of photos from the last 4 weeks of fall soccer.  You can tell the progression of colder weather by how bundled up we are by the last week!

A favorite pastime on the sidelines:  UNO

Violet loved to run on the field any chance she got.

One day we had Jorgen's game and Andrew's game back-to-back.  So we had a picnic lunch of 5-Buck Pizza in between.

Andrew's team was the Blazing Cheetos.

Andrew's coach was really nice and laid back.  Perfect for Andrew, who never scored any goals and only kicked the ball a few times total.

Getting cold!

Grumpy because he didn't get to go first.

Dan was Jorgen's coach.  He did a good job!
Now we are done until March.  It will be nice to have Saturdays back.

Growing Up

She just keeps on growing up!  In September Bethany went to her last Display of Achievements night for Activity Days.  She has had a lot of fun with Activity Days, and she has great leaders.  But she looks so much bigger and older than the other girls, so I guess she is ready to move on to Young Women's.

Bethany and her friends Taylor M. and Taylor P. both signed up for a volleyball class run by Layton City Recreation.  They meet at Legacy Junior High (which is where she will go next year) every Thursday night and practice volleyball skills.  Bethany has enjoyed it so far, although she says they still haven't played any actual games, they just practice skills.  I think the games will be coming...
