Andrew turned 6 yesterday! Woohoo! Here are a few flashback pics:
For at least a year Andrew has wanted to have a Chuck-E-Cheese party. So we let him have one this year. He only wanted to invite a few friends, which was fine with me since you have to pay per kid. We did the 10:00 am party which was perfect - no crowds or waiting. It was very nice. By the time we were done it was getting crowded, so we were glad to be leaving. It was also nice to not have to plan anything. Or clean/mess-up/clean the house :)
Andrew drew me a picture of what he wanted for his cake. I tried to scan it in but I can't figure out the scanner. He wanted a blue race car cake with yellow candles. So this is what I ended up with. It was pretty easy but time consuming. I made the blue one and Dan made the green one. Andrew was satisfied, so it was good.

Andrew's actual birthday was Monday.
Being silly
Opening presents. Jorgen thought it was HIS birthday.
Among other things, the thing Andrew wanted most was a science kit. So Dan found him an electric circuit building kit and a science experiment book. He is just like his Dad. I am SO looking forward to the volcanoes and slime in my house (sarcasm)
Edited: the snap circuit kit is awesome! Andrew has already spent several hours making various things like a light switch, a fan, an alarm, and a music player. He LOVES it already! I'll post some pictures of it later.
Second round of birthday cake
Again, Jorgen cannot just sit back and watch someone else have fun. He calls it "happy cake."
For his birthday dinner Andrew wanted pigs in a blanket and a milkshake - Banana blueberry. Yum! (yum for the milkshake, not so much on the piggies). It is hard to believe Andrew is already 6 years old. He is such a great boy. Handsome, smart, inquisitive, tender, and I love his beautiful blue eyes. Happy birthday kiddo!
I have been too busy to update my blog lately, so here is a quick update on what's been going on around here.
Valentine's Day:
Jorgen made these beauties:
Discovery Gateway:
We went to the Discovery Gateway on President's Day. It was SO CROWDED! Holy cow, I've never seen so many kids. And they were all grumpy and not taking turns (including mine!) But we stuck it out, and eventually the crowd thinned out a bit so we could enjoy the exhibits more. The best time to go? Dinner time. That's when all the other families split. I did manage to capture a few smiles on camera.
I love this picture below:
I think this museum is equally as fun as the Ogden one (Children's Treehouse), but more expensive and more crowded. So my vote leans toward the Ogden museum, in case you are trying to decide.
Andrew's Igloo:
Made from marshmallows at school.
Baby Shower:
My sister-in-law Kandice is expecting her first baby (a girl!) in early March - so any day now! I thought it was cute (and a little terrifying) that Bethany was trying to look pregnant like Kandice.
Grandpa's Birthday:
We visited Grandpa Baker to wish him a happy birthday.
Federation:
Last Saturday was Federation Solo Piano Festival at Piano Gallery. Here are a few of my students, aren't they adorable? All of my students got Superior this year (the top score). They all did a great job!
Girl Scout Cookies:
And finally, this is what we will be doing for the next little while - delivering cookies. So if you see us traipsing around the neighborhood, honk and wave. If you ordered some, we'll get them to you as soon as we can!
Dan and I met at USU during the summer of 1997. We were married in June of 1998 in the Bountiful Temple. We have four beautiful children: Bethany, Andrew, Jorgen, and Violet. We hope you enjoy our blog!
