Joyschool Graduation Program

Jorgen's Joyschool had a Graduation program also on Thursday in the evening.  It has been fun teaching these 8 kids all year (each mom took turns teaching for a couple weeks).  Jorgen called this "little preschool" and Montessori "big preschool," I think refering to how many kids were in each.

The program was fun.  They shared songs and nursery rhymes they had learned.  They acted out 5 little monkeys and the 3 pigs.  At the end they got diplomas and we had refreshments.

Getting ready to do 6 little monkeys.  Jorgen was the doctor (and a super cute one!)

So now Jorgen is done with preschool for the summer.  My older 2 kids are still in school until July 3rd (dang year-round school!)  So I need to find ways to occupy Jorgen that I can handle with a new baby in tow.  We'll see how that goes...

Montessori Preschool Program

Thursday was Jorgen's busy day.  He had two programs for his two preschools.  At 1:00 we went to the Clearfield Library for his Montessori program.  It was really cute and he knew all the songs.  I got it all on video, but here are some pictures.  I have really loved this preschool, all of my kids have gone here.  The teachers are fabulous and the kids learn so much.

Violet slept in her daddy's arms the whole time (yay! better than crying)  On the way home we got Frosty's to celebrate being done with preschool for the summer.  Jorgen has one more year of preschool because he won't be five until November.

1 Month Old

On May 21st Violet turned one month old.  Time flies when you spend your days (and nights) on a couch nursing.  I was looking at her brand-new-baby pictures from a month ago and she has changed so much already!  She is starting to fill out and look a little more chubby in the cheeks.  She was already up to 8 lbs 3 oz at her 2 week checkup 2 weeks ago.  I'm guessing she is close to 9 pounds by now.  She has been a great nurser, which is a huge relief for me.  I guess by the 4th child I finally figured it out.  She hasn't had even one drop of formula yet, although she has had expressed milk from a bottle a couple of times.

Some of Violets favorite things:  being held all day; being outside in the shade; being swaddled when sleepy; sleeping on Daddy's tummy; her mommy :)  She has already started smiling occaisionally, and once in awhile will coo a little.  She seems to enjoy her older siblings in small doses (they can get a little overwhelming).

Some of her least favorite things:  being in her car seat; poopy diapers; baths; being gassy; sleeping in her bed during the day - although, she sleeps in 5-6 hour stretches at night in her bed, so I am not complaining.  None of my other kids ever slept so long so early, and I honestly have no idea what I did differently.  Violet is such a sweetheart.  She cries, but not too much and not too loud (unless we are in the car...)  We love having her in our family and it has been good to slow down and enjoy our family for a little while.

One year later

It's hard to believe, but it has been a whole year since my dad passed away.  On Sunday we visited his grave at the Kaysville Cemetery and took some pictures.  It was pretty sunny (thus the strange faces in some of the pictures).

Meeting Baby Logan

Debbie, Abby, and Logan

My sister Debbie and her family were recently blessed to be able to adopt a baby boy!  They have been waiting for years to add to their family.  They came down last weekend so we could meet each others' babies.  It was cute to see how much Abby loves her new little brother.  He is about the same size as Violet.  He was born a couple weeks before Violet, but was 5 weeks early and spent some time in the NICU.  He is adorable!  Violet is the youngest in a baby-boom of cousins on both sides of our families this past year.

Bethany and Andrew thought it was hilarious that Logan would curl up.  They thought he was trying to karate-chop Violet.

Andrew Lost a Tooth!

Andrew has been waiting a very, very long time to lose any teeth.  Well on Saturday he finally lost his first tooth.  He was super excited.  Bethany lost her first tooth in Kindergarten, so Andrew didn't think it was fair he had to wait until second grade.  I guess it just proves every kid is different.

Pictures, Pictures!

Just wanted to share a few pictures of Violet and the kids.  She has been a really good baby so far.  I think we'll keep her.  :)
