On May 21st Violet turned one month old. Time flies when you spend your days (and nights) on a couch nursing. I was looking at her brand-new-baby pictures from a month ago and she has changed so much already! She is starting to fill out and look a little more chubby in the cheeks. She was already up to 8 lbs 3 oz at her 2 week checkup 2 weeks ago. I'm guessing she is close to 9 pounds by now. She has been a great nurser, which is a huge relief for me. I guess by the 4th child I finally figured it out. She hasn't had even one drop of formula yet, although she has had expressed milk from a bottle a couple of times.
Some of Violets favorite things: being held all day; being outside in the shade; being swaddled when sleepy; sleeping on Daddy's tummy; her mommy :) She has already started smiling occaisionally, and once in awhile will coo a little. She seems to enjoy her older siblings in small doses (they can get a little overwhelming).
Some of her least favorite things: being in her car seat; poopy diapers; baths; being gassy; sleeping in her bed during the day - although, she sleeps in 5-6 hour stretches at night in her bed, so I am not complaining. None of my other kids ever slept so long so early, and I honestly have no idea what I did differently. Violet is such a sweetheart. She cries, but not too much and not too loud (unless we are in the car...) We love having her in our family and it has been good to slow down and enjoy our family for a little while.
