Easter Morning

I tried to get a picture of the kids in their new clothes. The older two cooperated.

This is how Jorgen felt about his new suit (which used to be Andrew's and now it fits Jorgen). He had the jacket on for a whopping 2 minutes. I guess he doesn't like suits! Just like his daddy. He said it was too hot. Every Sunday he cries when he has to put "church clothes" on, and that is just a polo shirt. I guess the suit is too confining for a 3-year-old. (Although I think Andrew wore it every Sunday for like 2 years because he liked it so much - go figure.)

Easter Egg Hunt

We had a little egg hunt with the kids Saturday. Yes, my flower beds need help. It has been a wet spring and I haven't had a chance to get them cleaned up yet.

Easter Eggs

April 17 - last Sunday - the kids were getting anxious for Easter so we dyed some Easter Eggs. They love the dyeing part, but then none of the kids will actually eat hard boiled eggs, so we always have way too many. But it's all about having fun, right? Bethany discovered she likes deviled eggs, though.

For some reason they thought they had to strike a pose! ha ha!

Thanksgiving Point

Last Saturday, April 16, we decided to head to Thanksgiving Point to see the tulip festival. Since we've had such a cold spring, the tulips really weren't blooming much, so that was kind of disappointing, but it was still a nice day and we did see a few tulips. This was actually my first time ever at Thanksgiving Point. I thought it was beautiful and peaceful, but we just might have to go again when there is more in bloom. At least it wasn't raining (or snowing!) It was actually a pretty nice day, not the warmest, but still nice.

( This is a random shot from Andrew's soccer game that morning- I thought it was cute but it doesn't fit the rest of the post. It was pretty cold at soccer, thus the kids wrapping in the blanket.)

Thanksgiving Point:

This is the Children's Discovery Garden

Main Garden Area - the waterfalls are quite impressive.

They have some pretty decent hills to roll down:

One of many pouting moments:

This is the Rose Garden - we will have to go back in June when the roses bloom.

We saw a mother goose on her nest in the "Secret Garden."

Cotton Candy Hands:

After a snack break of Kettle Corn and Cotton Candy, we headed over to the Museum of Ancient Life to see the dinosaurs.

Museum of Ancient Life:

Now THAT is a dioramma! But not as cute as the 3rd graders.

The boys crashed in the car. We had to wake them up for dinner, but Andrew was too tired to eat anything.

Carl Bloch Exhibit:

After dinner we headed over to the BYU Museum of Art to see the Carl Bloch exhibit. Andrew was actually quite pumped to be at the actual B-Y-U. I have no idea how, but somehow he has turned into a BYU fan. I know, only USU fans allowed here, but whatever. We weren't sure how the kids would behave and were ready to leave if necessary, but they were actually good. Except that neither boy would walk, so Dan carried Jorgen and I carried Andrew. Good thing he is only 40 pounds. I was very impressed by the artwork - what a master artist! The pictures were inspiring and beautiful. You should definitely go if you have the chance. This was Jorgen's feelings afterwards:

It was a fun-filled day and we wore those kids out pretty good. They slept most of the way home.
